Reconnect: Mind-Body Foundations

This module is about slowing things down enough to notice what is actually happening in your body and mind. Many people have learned to override early signals in order to cope. Over time, this can lead to disconnection, confusion, and exhaustion.

Reconnect creates space to pause and observe, without judgement and without trying to fix everything at once. It helps you begin to rebuild awareness in a way that feels safe and manageable.

In this module, you will:

  • Learn how stress shows up in the body, including early physical, emotional, and cognitive signals
  • Recognise patterns of tension, fatigue, and overload before they escalate
  • Understand the difference between normal tiredness and deeper depletion
  • Explore why pushing through often backfires, even when intentions are good

Module 2

Reset: Everyday Energy & Self-Care

This module focuses on rebuilding day to day support for your energy in ways that are realistic and sustainable. When energy is low or unpredictable, well meant advice can feel overwhelming or unhelpful. Reset helps you work out what actually supports you, rather than what you feel you should be doing.

The emphasis is on small, repeatable adjustments that fit into real life, not on overhauling everything at once.

In this module, you will:

  • Identify what restores your energy and what consistently drains it
  • Learn how to rest in ways that genuinely support recovery, rather than leaving you more fatigued
  • Explore how food, movement, and emotional load affect energy and stability
  • Develop daily rhythms that feel supportive rather than restrictive
  • Build small habits that increase capacity over time, without pressure

This module helps you move from reacting to exhaustion towards creating steadier support for your energy, one step at a time.

Module 3

Rebalance: Mindfulness & Integration

This module is about keeping what helps and making it easier to return to when life gets busy again. Progress is rarely linear, especially when stress levels rise or routines get disrupted. Rebalance helps you build a steadier relationship with your practices, so they support you rather than becoming another thing to manage.

The focus is integration, bringing what you have learned into everyday life in a way that feels flexible and realistic.

In this module, you will:

  • Learn simple grounding tools you can use in daily moments, not just in calm settings
  • Explore ways to build resilience without relying on pushing through or ignoring your limits
  • Develop a quick check in process to notice what you need and respond early
  • Practise adjusting your routines with care, rather than abandoning them when things change
  • Maintain progress without turning wellbeing into another task list

About the course creator

I’m Dr Jasmin Tzortzakakis Malik, a General Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in trauma-informed and trauma-preventive, inclusive healthcare.

I am also someone who has navigated long-term illness, including five years of long COVID. It left me depleted and disoriented, and it was difficult to find clear guidance in a system that often has little to offer when recovery is slow or complex.

For a long time, I tried to push through. I told myself I just needed to eat better, move more, and be more resilient. But my body had stopped responding in the way I once understood. Each time I exercised, I would be severely fatigued for days or weeks. My weight increased, my blood results worsened, and inflammation became a constant theme, affecting my joints and other systems.

At one point, my biological age was reported in the 80s despite being in my early 40s. I was pre diabetic, close to the threshold for diabetes, and my cholesterol was markedly raised despite a healthy diet. This was a stark contrast to the person I had been before, one who ran marathons, climbed mountains, and thrived at work.

The advice I received did not meet my needs. What helped was slowing down enough to recognise that the path forward was not more effort, it was better listening. I needed to pause, rebuild a sense of safety in my body and mind, and understand what my symptoms were trying to communicate.

This is still a journey. I have caught COVID multiple times, and each episode has set me back for months after the acute infection. But I have also seen what is possible. I have reached a stage where I feel consistently well again, and good days return with steadiness, connection, and capacity.

This course is the resource I wish I had at the beginning. It brings together what I have learned personally and what I have shared with patients over many years, when we have taken the time to look more carefully at what might be driving symptoms.
